Swim, Splash & Survive
Addressing inclusion and gender inequality through a range of aquatic sport activities that also improve water safety and survival skills.
Swim, Splash & Survive is a partnership between Wan Smolbag Theatre and Vanuatu Aquatics Federation. The program is run out of Wan Smolbag Theatre’s youth centre and teaches basic water safety and survival skills through its learn to swim courses, disability swimming, aqua aerobics and its gender inclusion program, ‘spiderball’, which is a non-contact version of beach water polo.
The Swim, Splash & Survive program aims to target two main problems through aquatic sports - inclusion and gender inequality. Wan Smolbag Theatre and Vanuatu Aquatics Federation work together to build up inclusive environments in communities and villages to deliver the program.
