Aquatics for all

Let’s Swim Vanuatu is a partnership between Wan Smolbag Theatre and Vanuatu Aquatics Federation. The program is run out of Wan Smolbag Theatre’s youth centre and teaches basic water safety and survival skills through its learn to swim courses, disability swimming, aqua aerobics and its gender inclusion program, ‘spiderball’, which is a non-contact version of beach water polo.

Women participating in an aqua aerobics program in Vanuatu say it has encouraged them to jump in the water for the first time.

The Let’s Swim program aims to target two main problems through aquatic sports - inclusion and gender inequality. Wan Smolbag Theatre and Vanuatu Aquatics Federation work together to build up inclusive environments in communities and villages to deliver the program.
